Hanover Theatre Company
Theatre at Hanover High School has four levels: I, II,III, and IV. A student studying theatre must take four total years (not necessarily in order) of theatre in order to receive the weighted credit for the course. Additionally, students enjoy taking the course just for fun! Our curriculum includes acting techniques, beginning to advanced levels, voice and speech, physical acting, and movement.
Other topics we cover, depending on the level of class, include but are not limited to theatre history, playwrighting, scene study and monologue work, improvisation, Greek theatre, musical theatre, Moliere, and Shakespeare. Additionally, we have a play production component where students work on technical elements of the shows produced at HHS as needed.
We engage in student-driven productions, coffee houses, two Mainstage shows a year, and participation in statewide theatre competitions. At Hanover, we aim to expose students to live theatrical performances and to help them learn the value of aesthetic and artistic appreciation. There are many opportunities for students to become involved both onstage and behind the scenes in the theatre program here at Hanover High School. Hanover Theatre Company is a welcoming community of students who support each other and are proud to represent Hanover High School.
