Dear Hawk Families,
Welcome to the 2024–2025 school year at Hanover High School. We hope this message finds you well and eagerly anticipating the exciting academic year ahead.
As we begin this year, we would like to extend a warm welcome to the Hanover High School Class of 2028! We have been so impressed with all your accomplishments to date and look forward to sharing the next four years with you. Mark your calendar for orientation and open house on August 13, 2024. This is also a time to bid the Class of 2024 a fond farewell as they head off to their next adventure. Please know your legacy will live on, and we hope you will return to celebrate Homecoming with us on September 27, 2024 as we take on the Atlee Raiders.
Additionally, we are delighted to welcome new staff members to the Hawk family. Their expertise and enthusiasm will undoubtedly contribute to our collective mission of providing the best possible education for our students. Our teachers and support staff have been busy this summer attending professional development and new learning opportunities. We are ready and excited to get this school year started!
While last year was one filled with countless achievements, we are most proud of our students’ academic success and dedication. Their resilience and commitment to learning paved the way to outstanding growth and results. Our students excelled above state and national averages in IB and AP testing, and we saw strong growth in SOL performance. We look forward to continuing this tradition of hard work and determination.
Hanover High School also demonstrated excellence outside of the classroom with recognitions and awards for our wide range of clubs and activities. This year we had students recognized at the state and national level in DECA, yearbook, and musical recognitions. In addition, our HOSA (Future Health Professionals) organization achieved highly at the international level. Our athletic teams also excelled with many memorable victories and displays of sportsmanship, resulting in individuals winning state championships in track and swim. We commend all of our students who have participated for their determination, leadership, and passion for contributing to the enrichment of our school community.
Your involvement and support play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and safe environment for our students and their families. We encourage you to sign up to volunteer, join the PTSA, and booster organizations. Together, we can make this year at Hanover High School a rewarding and memorable one. We are eager to embark on this journey with you, and we look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our students and the strength of our community!
It’s a great day to be a Hawk!
